The Samsung AMOLED SCH-W880 is a mobile phone released in late 2009 (Korea) and dubbed the first ever 12MP camera phone with a 3x optical zoom lens. It is in fact an upgrade from the Pixon 12 (June 2009), which also hosted a 12MP camera, but lacked the 3x optical and 2x digital zoom — which allows for a full 6x zoom. Included also is a 3.3” AMOLED screen and more importantly, the capability to record high-quality 720p videos (1280x720) at 30fps. As the SCH-W880 is geared for serious photographers, it also includes a plethora of innovative camera functions: auto focus, image stabilization, Smart auto, face detection, and of course, a Xenon flash. Additional features include 4GB of internal memory, microSDHC expansion, and the possibility of GPS and/or Wi-Fi (no confirmation as of yet).
