The Pentax K-x is a DSLR camera built to replace the K2000 as Pentax’s new entry-level solution. It is compact and utilizes an easy-to-use interface; which Pentax hopes will draw in a whole new audience. It features a powerful 12.4MP CMOS sensor with an onboard A/D conversion system that allows it to shoot at 4.7 fps, as well as capture 24 720p high-definition frames per second. Included with the K-x is a superior ISO (up to 12,800), an improved shutter speed up to 1/6000 sec, and a large 2.7” LCD screen that features Live View w/contrast, phase difference, and Automatic Face Detection. Note also that the unit inherits the K-7’s 11-point AF system and PRIME II imaging engine. Signature to the Pentax K-x is that it compatible with every PENTAX interchangeable lens that has ever been produced—which lends tremendously to its versatility.
